St. Moritz is a resort town in the Engadine valley in Switzerland. The highest summit in the Eastern Alps, the Piz Bernin, lies a few kilometers south of the town. St. Moritz hosted the Winter Olympics in 1928 and 1948. Thanks to its favorable location, St. Moritz enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year. Every winter it hosts the "White Turf" horse race on the frozen Lake St. Moritz attended by the international upper class. Among world class skiing and snowboarding, St. Moritz is home to the world famous Cresta Run toboggan course. Other activities and sights to see include the Segantini Museum, dedicated to Giovanni Segantini, a painter that lived the last five years of his life in Engadine. Another must-see is the boblsed run - a very rare, naturally refrigerated bob sleigh track running through St. Moritz.
